Putting customers first - Derwent Living Business Plan, 2009-2011

Following extensive consultation with residents, employees and the Board of Management, Derwent Living’s new business plan was approved in December and will take the company forward from 2009 to 2011.

Customers said they wanted us to focus on improving our service delivery, so the core of the business plan is to deliver excellent services and in particular to prioritise improvements in maintenance.  This has given the business plan its “customers first” focus.

You wanted us to limit our area of operation so that we can manage more effectively, so we are concentrating new core business within a 60 mile radius of our base in Derby.

We have also been carrying out our community census. This shows our customers come from very diverse backgrounds and we may need to revisit the business plan to take account of this as we get more information.

In uncertain economic circumstances, progress and performance against the plan will be regularly reviewed by the board.
