Directors
Chief Executive
Peter McCormack
“I joined Derwent Living as Chief Executive in March 2008. My role is to work closely with the Board and Executive team to provide overall strategic direction for the group and to oversee the performance of the organisation in all its facets. I recognise the unique blend Derwent Living offers: a true social business with its social and community functions supported by a thriving commercial sector. My aim is to drive improvements in the business, so all our customers have a good experience and that Derwent Living makes a positive impact on people’s lives. ”
Directors and Assistant Directors
Ian Smith – Resources
“Since 1990 I have had responsibility for the accounting and treasury functions of Derwent Living, but in recent years my remit has expanded to include other corporate resources such as ICT. I ensure that my teams listen to feedback, both from colleagues and customers and provide robust support in line with business needs.”
Emma-Kate Fletcher – People and Organisational Development
“I am responsible for People and Organisational Development and I lead the human resources, marketing and performance teams. I’m responsible for ensuring that we have the resources in place to deliver our business plan. This includes having the right strategies, tools and, above all, people to deliver our services. My previous experience both in housing and the wider private sector is very much on the people side of the business.”
Steve McDonough – Housing
“As Housing Director I am responsible for housing services and supported housing and improving the service we provide to our customers. I use my past experience in the commercial sector to build links between the group’s commercial activities and the affordable side of the business; enabling learning across the group.”
Samantha Veal – Development
“I lead the Development team and together we are responsible for the construction and acquisition of new homes for rent and home ownership. My team and I work closely with colleagues, customers and external partners to maximize the number of new homes we can bring to the region to ensure quality housing choices for the communities we work in.”
