Crucial mixed-use scheme for Nottingham city centre
Date: 13 December 2005A £70 million development of shops, offices and hi-tech student accommodation is set to totally reshape Nottingham's Trinity Square.
Work has begun on the square where buildings and the Trinity Square car park are to be demolished to make way for a unique 14-storey building which is set to form a focal point beside the Cornerhouse.
The new development, in two different phases, which will look out onto the Victoria Centre, will feature ground floor shops, car park and above, accommodation for 699 students.
The £27 million student accommodation side of the development will be managed by Derwent Living, which is now the largest private provider of student accommodation in Nottingham - with 3,000 bed spaces.
