Payment in advance for weekly tenancies
If you have a weekly tenancy (affordable rent or similar), payment needs to be on your account by the Monday of each week.
You can pay rent weekly, fortnightly four weekly or monthly, but it’s important that it's paid in advance. It's your responsibility to pay rent even if you claim housing benefit.
Payments for other customer types
Your payment must be on your account by the agreed day of the month if you are:
- a residential lettings customer (also called market rent) and have a monthly tenancy
- a shared owner or leaseholder and pay a monthly rent and/or service charge
- an outright owner and have an annual or bi-annual service charge with an agreed monthly payment plan
For those customers paying an annual or bi-annual service charge, this amount can also be paid in full when the service charge is demanded.
All agreements should be made through the Home Ownership Team.
Other ways to pay
