From time to time you may need to make changes to your tenancy. This page details the most frequent tenancy changes we undertake. For anything not listed below, please use our general enquiries form.
Assignment of tenancies
Derwent Living operates a tenancy amendment policy to ensure that we make best use of our housing stock and to ensure that we support tenants to exercise their legal rights in relation to tenancies.
This includes following tenancy amendments;
- Succession (upon death of a tenant)
- Succession by way of Assignment, where a joint tenant requests to have their name removed from a tenancy (joint to sole)
- Sole to Joint tenancies
- Name changes
To make a tenancy amendment, please email our duty housing officer at email@example.com.
For your protection we will not discuss your personal tenancy information with anyone who is not named on the tenancy. In order for somebody to speak on your behalf (we call this a “nominated contact”), we must have your permission.
Please ensure you have discussed this with the person(s) you are nominating and that they are happy to take on this responsibility, as they will be able to discuss details of all areas of your tenancy.
To do this, you need to provide the following information;
- Your name and address
And the following for your nominated contact
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Relationship to you
- Contact telephone no
Once this form has been completed, your nominated contact will be sent a form, to provide the following details;
- Full Name
- Date of Birth
- Contact Telephone No
Without this information, we will be unable to add your contact on to our system and they will not be able to discuss any areas of your tenancy. You can request a nominated contact by emailing our tenancy services team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
