Important information about reporting repairs

Due to essential system maintenance, Derwent Living will only be processing emergency repairs via the main repairs telephone number from 3pm Thursday 20 September to Monday 24 September 2018. All non-emergency repair requests should be made by using the report a repair form on this website.

There are different ways to move house, but one way is through swapping your home with someone else.  It can be a lot quicker than waiting for a transfer.  But how would you do it? What does it involve? What do you need to know?  This easy guide explains mutual exchanges and how to go about them.

Permission

Derwent Living customers can swap with tenants in a council house or from a housing association, including Derwent Living.  Either way both of you will need permission from your current landlord before a move can go ahead.  Also you accept the home you’re moving to as seen, so you will be responsible for any repairs or decorating you want done.

Are you eligible?

The guide explains why certain tenants aren’t eligible, including those on starter tenancies and those who are having court action taken against them.  It also gives information about schemes such as HomeSwapper that help people to find a suitable match.

If you're a customer why not register for an account? It means that you won't have to enter your name, address or contact details on any form on the website. If you don't have an account, filling out the tenancy number on this form (if you know it) and/or your address will help us answer your message more quickly, but it's OK if you don't.
