We have been busy working on a renovation project for our retirement schemes, take a sneaky peak here.

Here at Derwent Living, retirement living manager Tracy Palmer and technical services manager Zack Seals have been working hard with FRC Group and Novus to renovate our communal lounges in some of our retirement living schemes. The first scheme was at Appleby and Bradbourne courts.

Bridget Hilton, one of our estates and tenancy officers, has said about the recent renovation "We are very happy with the end result and enjoyed involving residents on the selection of décor and furniture, giving residents a voice and encouraging a sense of ownership and pride".

One of the residents, Mrs. Halls, said "I think the communal lounge looks very nice. It feels very inviting and cosy. The chairs are very comfortable and I enjoy being in the room. I hope it starts to get used more now and look forward to spending more time in this room."

We are now moving onto our scheme at Beckitt Close, Alvaston, where we have already asked the residents for their input on décor and design.

Tracy Palmer said, "Our aim is to make residents communal lounge more appealing and is crucial to prevent loneliness and isolation, while boosting well being for current and new customers living within retirement Living."

Keep a look out for further updates.
