Derwent Living has joined forces with Derby Homes and Derby City Council to run an event for customers in Derby who will lose part of their housing benefit from April. On Tuesday 19 March customers affected by the bedroom tax are invited to call into the Darwin Suite at Derby's Assembly Rooms anytime between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Those who have not already made suitable arrangements are being urged to attend to avoid falling into debt.
Housing staff and benefits advisors will be available to discuss customers' rent accounts and benefits. They will also be able to explain different options for those who want to move to a smaller property by mutual exchange or transfer.
Erewash Credit Union is also attending the event to outline the financial services it offers.
All customers affected by the changes should receive invitations by post, text or email.
