Derwent Living gardening competition

Derwent Living’s resident involvement team will be holding a gardening competition this year, and residents of all tenures are encouraged to take part.
Residents from across Derwent Living’s entire operating area are welcome to apply and it doesn’t matter how big or small your garden is: all that matters is that you’re proud of it.
It could be a paved area with gnomes and plant pots, a window box or some plants on a balcony, or even a hanging basket outside your front door!
There’ll be two categories in the competition: best individual garden and best communal garden, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize places all up for grabs.
Sitting on the panel, alongside resident involvement officer Harriet Phillipson, are Derwent Living staff members Julie Griffin and Adem Mahmoud, as well as resident judges.
Julie manages, among other contracts, the landscape maintenance contract for Derwent Living. She said: “We’re always really proud of the effort and hard work that residents put into making their gardens look wonderful, so it’s going to be great to see all of the entries. I know that we have some fantastic gardeners living in our properties, so I think we’re going to find it hard to choose a winner!”
You have until Friday 19th August to send us your photographs and you can do this by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to: Derwent Living, No. 1 Centro Place, Pride Park, Derby, DE24 8RF.
You can also send pictures to us by private message on Facebook or Twitter.
Don’t forget to include your name and address on any entries, and the winner will be announced in the autumn issue of Derwent Life magazine. Good luck!
