The cleanup is part of a nationwide effort by the Places for People Group to support Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean campaign.
Mitch Allseybrook, customer engagement manager at Derwent Living said: “As part of the Great British Spring Clean, we’ll be visiting one of our larger schemes in Kimberley, Nottingham. Working with our staff teams and customers we’ll be organising a large skip, clearing litter and helping plot holders at the onsite allotment prepare for the growing season.
“Members of our housing team will be there to answer questions and conduct joint scheme inspections with residents, logging issues and addressing any environmental concerns they may have.
“We’ll be contacting customers at the scheme over the next few weeks to let them know how they can get involved.”
The Great British Spring Clean, organised by charity Keep Britain Tidy, runs from Friday 22 March to Tuesday 23 April and is expected to be the country’s biggest ever mass participation environmental campaign. The initiative is aiming to get half a million people to clear up litter, increase awareness of plastic pollution and promote recycling.
