Work is nearing completion on Derwent Living’s 38 new two bedroom bungalows at Gainsford Close, Bestwood. The homes, which are all for affordable rent, are earmarked for people aged 55 and over.

The bungalows are now being allocated via Nottingham’s HomeLink choice based lettings system.  Anyone wishing to apply for one of these properties should register and bid using HomeLink.

The Gainsford Close properties are on a good bus route and are attracting interest from older people who need single storey accommodation. Some want to downsize from larger houses and this in turn will free up under-occupied and much needed family housing.

The spacious bungalows have been built to a high standard with special attention given to access, design and energy efficiency. Each property has its own parking space, level access and a wet room.

The scheme, which attracted funding from the Homes and Communities Agency’s Affordable Housing Programme, is being built by Westleigh Developments Ltd on land provided by Nottingham City Council.
