Grants from the newly launched Dolly Smith fund are bringing customers together.

Earlier this year, Derwent Living launched a special fund in memory of Beckett Close resident Dolly Smith, who sadly passed away at the age of 107. The aim is to support initiatives which tackle social isolation amongst older customers. Retirement Living customers can apply for grants of between £50 and £500 to spend on events or equipment for social activities.

Last week, customers at The Beeches in Spondon held a Strawberry and Prosecco tea to celebrate their winning bid for communal garden furniture. And today customers at Carsington & Wessington Mews in Allestree held a garden party to celebrate the purchase of a garden gazebo, which they secured from the fund to bring customers together during the warmer months.

We’re also delighted to announce that we have received an additional £3,000 for the Dolly Smith Fund. You can find more information on how to apply in the Community section of this website, from your resident manager or estate and tenancy officer or email getinvolved@derwentliving.com.
