Following on from the article about contractor changes in the spring edition of Derwent Life, please see below a set of frequently asked questions relating to the new grounds maintenance service, which starts next month. If you have any further questions, please direct them to email@example.com or ask on our MY Derwent Living system
When will the new grounds maintenance contract commence?
The current grounds maintenance contract, delivered by Greenfingers, ends on 31st March 2017. Places for People Landscapes will deliver the contract from 1st April onwards.
What will the benefits of the new contract be, and what are the differences compared with the current grounds maintenance contract?
As Derwent Living is now a member of the Places for People Group the service will be directly delivered in-house by Places for People Landscapes. The new contract will include a revised specification which includes services not previously provided, such as an annual weed and feed of communal lawns/grassed areas and the removal of dog waste.
Will I still receive the same number of visits, and will they still carry out the same work?
The visit schedule remains the same however the specification will be enhanced as described above.
How does the change in contract affect costs?
Places for People Landscapes are honouring the current pricing for the first year of service. Throughout the first year of service we will be looking for efficiencies to ensure costs remain competitive.
How can I identify an operative from Places for People Landscapes?
Operatives from Places for People Landscapes will visit schemes in branded vehicles and clothing. Previous advice regarding on-site workers still applies, so if you are unsure about the identity of anybody claiming to be working for Derwent Living or Places for People, please contact us and we will investigate.
Where are the new operatives based and will travelling distances affect how frequently grounds maintenance work is carried out?
Places for People Landscapes currently have a depot in Nottingham, however there may be an opportunity to open a larger, regional depot to service this and other contracts in the future. Travelling from Nottingham will not affect how frequently work is carried out.
How do I provide feedback about the service I am receiving?
In exactly the same way as you currently give us feedback; so you can phone us, contact us via social media or speak to us in person when you see us on site. We will continue with customer satisfaction surveys and encourage all service users to share their views with us.
