Following an election where housing finally became a campaign issue, housing associations have found themselves on the back foot facing four years of rent reductions and potential stock depletion through right to buy.
Derby-based housing provider Derwent Living has been raising funds for local charitable organisation Derventio Housing Trust, which helps homeless and vulnerable people. Teaming up with social housing procurement organisation Efficiency East Midlands (EEM), the Dancing Duck Brewery and aero-engine manufacturer Rolls Royce, Derwent Living has raised over £800 from various recent events.
Derwent Living will be ‘fighting for homes’ later this month when residents and staff from the Derby-based housing provider join the Homes for Britain rally in central London - to demand an end to the housing crisis.
